Brightest Horizons Child Development Center, Inc.
A 501(c)(3) Organization - Serving Lee County Since 1958

Brightest Horizons is located in the Harlem Heights community of Fort Myers, Florida. Our child development program is nationally accredited through APPLE (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment) and has been awarded the Gold Seal of Excellence by the State of Florida . Our program provides a secure and enriching environment that serves a diverse population of children representing African American, Caucasian, Creole, Haitian, and Hispanic nationalities.

We are a state-licensed not-for-profit organization that provides an educational program for 163 children from four weeks to 12 years of age, including after-school and a full-time summer schedule. Some of our teachers are former students and we also have third generation children in our program. We see the increased educational levels, job security and higher income levels from generation to generation in our children's families.

The educational program is based on the Creative Curriculum and the High Scope philosophy, designed to meet the social, emotional, physical and developmental needs of the children cared for. A well-rounded program with a strong emphasis on early literacy is an integral part of the three and four year-olds' learning. We are one of five programs in the state of Florida that was chosen to participate in the Success by Six Early Learning First Grant. This three year program, begun in 2003, assisted us in providing a literacy-rich educational environment for our children.  In addition, we work with tutoring services and volunteers to assist with literacy in the classroom and homework help for the after school children.

Parental involvement is crucial to the success of each child. We are responsive to the needs of the entire family and offer help with referrals, counseling, clothing, food and or household items when possible. Whether employed by or enrolled in our program, you become part of the Brightest Horizons family!

Volunteers are an important part of Brightest Horizons. Please contact Tina Parsons or Connie Martin if you would like to volunteer either directly with the children, in the office, or with a fundraising project. You can truly make a difference in the lives of children.

Brightest Horizons - Where Kids Come First! We are proud of our campus and love visitors. Please arrange in advance to stop by and meet our kids.
