Matching Scholarship
Appeal
Brightest Horizons believes in providing a secure and enriching environment
for early childhood development and especially for children of low-income
working families of many cultures. Brightest Horizons is a Nationally Accredited
Early Childhood Development Center caring for up to 163 children from 4 weeks to
12 years of age, including after school and a full time summer program. Most of
our children are only partially funded by their own families. Therefore, we must
seek financial assistance for matching scholarships.
For over thirty five years, individuals, foundations, houses of worship, community
organizations, and government funding have supported Brightest Horizons Missions
in order to assist the children and their families at our Harlem Heights center.
We are in urgent need of funding due to declining federal and state resources. We cannot serve a child that we cannot fund. Your donations will go
directly into our matching scholarship fund which is then matched 100% by state
monies. This state program serves almost half of our children.
We need your help to meet our commitment for this state program. Your
contribution will enable our children to continue to benefit from Brightest
Horizons' high quality educational program.
Tuition is an average of $8,500 per year
per child.
Based on the family size and income, the average paid by working parents
is 13%-15% of that amount. With a Matching Grant from the State of Florida, your donation is multiplied, allowing us to serve more children. Your donation of $4,250, for example, will be matched and pay for the educational program of one child for a full year.
We will gladly welcome gifts of any size.
